What to do with active boys, age 5 and 8 during summer without summer Camps.?
I have not signed up for my camps for my boys this summer. School has been out for few days and already they are getting restless. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on camps this summer. Other than going to parks, is there any things I could get them to do in summer that does not cost much.
I am having my boys do 2 workbook pages each day during summer to keep their brains active. We are also planning on lots of bike-riding, library visiting, sprinkler jumping, story writing ( and illustrating – you can have them draw the pictures and dictate the story for you to write ). Look up the recipe for home-made play dough (it smells gross – boys like it), and home made silly putty. Buy a children’s cookbook and tell your kids to pick out one recipe each per week and do it, have them plan the grocery trip for their cookbook item. Wow, and get the “Dangerous Book for Boys”, lots of cool stuff in there from historical anecdotes to paper airplanes, to the rules for playing marbles. Have a blast!
